CLERKS REPORT

The Clerk contacted the local Police and they have asked if people can telephone them on 01371 872208 or 01376 556242 when motor/quad bikes are being ridden off-road around the village and surrounding fields.  They will then try and come out and investigate further.
The Clerk mentioned to the Local Police about the vandalism of the white bridge over the river.  Unfortunately they are unable to do anything about this.  The Clerk contacted Highways and they are going to undertake a site visit.  The Clerk contacted the Environment Agency and is currently awaiting a call from the Anglia Region.  The local farmer was contacted too and the bridge is apparently not his responsibility.

Clerk

The Clerk has purchased a lock for the large 5-bar gate at Watts Close Play Area and is arranging for screws to be added to gates so that they cannot be removed.   It was agreed to purchase various signs for the play areas.

Clerk

The Clerk has been in contact with UDC Planning Department and they have agreed that the Parish Council do not need any type of permission to install a ‘kissing style gate’ at Watts Close play area.  But the Parish Council will need Consent to erect a gate on a Public Right of Way from ECC.  Clerk has completed forms and is awaiting a response.

Clerk

The Clerk contacted UDC regarding parking in Watts Close.  UDC are going through their ‘procedures’.  Hopefully this problem will be rectified shortly.  UDC said that they do not feel that there is a need for further parking to be created at this time.  The Clerk also contacted the Local Police who cannot do anything unless the cars are parked on the road.

The Clerk reported various potholes in Watts Close to Highways – awaiting repair.
