Minutes of Barnston Parish Council Meeting held on

 

Monday 14th December 2009 at Barnston Village Hall

Declaration of Interest – None.

Public Forum – There were no members of the public present.

District and County Councillors Report – There were no Councillors present.

Road Safety – Mr Townsend reported that there had been no accidents again this month.  The salt bin at the bottom of Parsonage Lane is empty.  Clerk has already asked Highways to fill it but will chase again.  Handy lady to put a couple of bags of salt in the bin until it is filled by Highways.

The Minutes of the Meeting held on Monday 9th November 2009 were approved and signed.

CLERKS REPORT

 

7.1

Community Initiatives Fund - The village gateways have been installed.

Safety Barrier at bus stop – Still waiting for a date from Highways for installation.

Coloured road surfaces near bus stops – it is unlikely that this will be completed until the next financial year.

Weight Restriction – Clerk advised that Cllr Barker has no new information.

The local police have been asked to visit the village again with the speed camera.

FINANCIAL  POSITION

 

 

The financial positions as at 30.11.09 were as follows: £14735.02 in the current account and £821.47 in the NSB account.  Totalling: £15556.49.

 

8.1

Parish Precept – The Parish Council unanimously RESOLVED to request a precept for £19,000.  This is an increase of £500 on 2009/10.  It was noted that it is likely that new mowers will need to be purchased sometime next year and that more money is being spent on general maintenance and repairs.

 

8.2

It was noted that there had been an appointment of a new External Auditor.

UTT/1431/09/FUL – Construction of a first floor over reception room at rear.  Hoppits, Onslow Green, Barnston.  This application was reviewed and no objections made.
